The diocese of Shamshabad was erected on 10th October 2017 by His Holiness Pope Francis. The new diocese was inagurated on 7th January 2018. Pope appointed Mar Raphael Thattil as the first bishop of Shamshabad. It is the largest diocese in India. Diocese of Shamshabad shares its boundary with 75 dioceses. The eparchy is dedicated to St. Thomas, the apostle and its co patron is St. John Paul II. Shamshabad diocese covers 23 states and 4 union territoires including 2 islands. The territory of the new eparchy is vast: it includes the entire country of India not already included in existing eparchies. The pastoral life of the territory is already quite organised thanks in particular to the ministry of the aspotolic visitor, Msgr. Raphael Thattil, now the first bishop of Shamshabad. ഒരർത്ഥത്തിൽ നമ്മുടെ ജീവിതം ഒരു മഹാഭാഗ്യം ആണ്. ഒരത്ഭുതമാണ്. നമ്മുടെ മാതാപിതാക്കൾ, അവരുടെ കുടുംബശാഖകൾ, ആവരുടെ ജീവിത സാഹചര്യം, വിശ്വാസസംഹിതകൾ, കാഴ്ചപ്പാടുകൾ, ഗ്രാമം, നഗരം, രാജ്യം....തുടങ്ങി പല കാര്യങ്ങളും നാം ജനിക്കും മുമ്പേ നമുക്കായി ഒരുക്കി വച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. നിങ്ങളുടെ തലയിലെ ഓരോ മുടിയിഴയും എണ്ണപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു. മത്തായി 10 : 30 ഈ തിരുവെഴുത്തു വായിച്ചാൽ നമുക്കു മനസ്സിലാകും..... എല്ലാം നാം ചിന്തിക്കുന്നതിനപ്പുറമാണ് എന്ന്. നമ്മുടെ എല്ലാ കാര്യങ്ങളും നമുക്ക് മുമ്പേതന്നെ ഒരുക്കി വച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. നാം നാം ആകുന്നതിലേക്കു വന്നു പതിക്കുകയാണ് ചെയ്യുന്നത്. ആധുനിക ലോകത്തിന്റെ ഭാഷയിൽ ജീൻ, ഡി എൻ എ എന്നൊക്കെ നാം മനസ്സിലാക്കും.... എങ്കിലും അതൊക്കെ ഇങ്ങനെ ഒക്കെ സംഭവിക്കുന്നു എന്ന സത്യം തെളിഞ്ഞു വരുമ്പോൾ അതിശയിക്കാതെ തരമില്ല. അപ്പോൾ നമുക്ക് ഈ കിട്ടിയ ജീവിതം നമ്മുടെ അവകാശമല്ല. ഒരു ദാനമല്ലേ. അങ്ങനെ നിരൂപിക്കുന്നതിൽ തെറ്റില്ല എന്നാണ് എന്റെ മതം. നമുക്ക് ഒരു അവകാശവും ഇല്ലാത്ത ദാനധർമ്മത്തിൽ നാം എത്രത്തോളം അനാവശ്യ അധികാരമാണ് നേടിയെടുക്കുന്നത്. ആരാണ് നമ്മെ നാമാക്കുന്നത്? അവരോടു നമുക്ക് കടപ്പാടില്ലേ? അ

വാക്കുകളാൽ ഒതുക്കാവുന്ന വികാരമല്ല മ്മ്‌ടെ മണിചേട്ടൻ. ഒരിക്കൽ പോലും കണ്ടിട്ടില്ല എങ്കിലും വളരെ അടുപ്പമുള്ള ഒരാൾ എന്ന തോന്നലാണ് മണിചേട്ടന്റെ പടമോ പാട്ടൊ കേൾക്കുമ്പോൾ തോന്നുക. ആകാശമണ്ഡലത്തിലെ താരകശോഭയിൽ നിറഞ്ഞു നിന്നെങ്കിലും സൂര്യശോഭയിൽ പോലും തെളിഞ്ഞു കത്തിയെങ്കിലും മണിചേട്ടൻ ഒരു സാധാരണ ചാലക്കുടിക്കാരൻ മാത്രമല്ല സാധാരണ മലയാളി തന്നെയായിരുന്നു. ആത്മാവിന് ശാന്തി നേരുന്നു. പ്രണാമം.
